SUMMARY:Empowering women leaders in the furniture sector
DESCRIPTION:ForGEDI IUFRO TF will take part in the Webinar “Empowering women leaders in the furniture sector” on November 12\, 2025.\nThe webinar is part of a Women for Circular Furniture conference cycle developed as part of the CirCLER Project and co-funded by the European Union. This project aims to define the professional figure of the Circular Economy Transition Manager for the wood and furniture industry and the necessary training\, i.e. the set of skills expected by companies for this emerging role. It also aims to facilitate and guide the furniture industry’s transition towards a circular and sustainable economic paradigm.\nThe webinar will explore the challenges that women face in leadership roles within the furniture industry and highlight training tools and initiatives that foster equality and empowerment\, with a special focus on how women leaders can drive sustainability and circular economy practices in the sector.\nThere will be a keynote speech on Leadership skills for women working in traditional industries: challenges and opportunities by Raquel Ortega Martínez\, CETEM.\nPresentations of key European initiatives and tools will include: \n\nForGEDI: Course on gender equality\, diversity and inclusion (Todora Rogelja\, International Union of Forest Research Organizations)\nFLIER: The Future of Furniture: Circular Furniture (Irene Burroni\, Experimental Centre for Furniture and Furnishings)\nBe-WoodEN: Building and Education in Wood Ecosystem for the New European Bauhaus (Marta Casanova\, University of Genova – Department of Architecture and Design)\nPact for Skills: Lombardy (Lucia Devescovi\, FederlegnoArredo)\nWomen in construction\, wood and forestry: A Resource Toolkit for Gender Equality at Work (Paula Cravina\, European Federation of Building and Woodworkers)
