ForGEDI Co-Supervision Support & Expertise
Why co-supervision?
Bachelor’s and Master’s theses are often an important first step into independent research and can make valuable contributions to advancing GEDI-related knowledge within forestry and related fields. However, students interested in pursuing GEDI-related topics do not always have access to relevant expertise within their institution or supervisory team.
The ForGEDI IUFRO TF Co-Supervision Support initiative aims to make expertise within the ForGEDI network more visible and accessible. Through this page, students can identify researchers and practitioners whose expertise aligns with their interests, and who may be willing to contribute additional GEDI expertise through co-supervision and/or other forms of research support.
How to find a (For)GEDI expert to support your research?
If you are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student looking for additional GEDI expertise for your research project, we encourage you to browse the profiles below and identify individuals whose research interests align with your topic.
If you find someone whose expertise seems relevant to your project, feel free to get in touch. To help potential co-supervisors understand your idea, it is helpful to include:
- A short introduction of yourself
- Your university and degree programme
- A brief description of your research topic
Please copy (CC) Dr Theresa Klara Loch (Theresa.klara.loch@futureforests.uni-freiburg.de), the ForGEDI Co-Supervision Coordinator, in your initial email(s). This helps us not only better support you and the process, but also better understand how the initiative is being used.
Please note that all support is offered on a voluntary basis and depends on individual availability, expertise, and institutional requirements.
